On the 31 July 2012 the Australian Artillery Association webmaster received the below email from Mr Mike McNulty:

" My wife has been sorting through some of her deceased parents things and handed me a fascinating document dated August 1945 – it’s headed 2/4th Association Victory Bulletin No August 1945.   Looks like a copy of a typed Bulletin put out to that regiment and details actions at Balikpapan, named casualties and the start of demob etc. It makes interesting reading about this regiment that provided artillery support for that action.

My wife’s father was in the Australian navy, so suspect he was on one of the ships that took the 2/4th to Borneo.

If it is of any use to someone connected to that regiment who collects records let me know and I can forward it on.

The 2/4 Association Victory Bulletin Number August 1945 is an exceptional read of life for Artillerymen in late 1945 still in the middle of conflict.  

This document has now been forwarded onto the Royal Australian Artillery Historical Company for their retention and preservation for future generations.
