RAA Liaison Letter 2025 - 2026 Edition

RAA Liaison Letter – 2025 / 2026 Edition 61 guidance. We conducted multiple DRePL courses, engaged with Battlelab, FORCOMD and AHQ on the development of SUAS and CSUAS policy and procedures, and provided SUAS support to M777, AS-9 and AAAD ranges. STA Wing led LCC’s SUAS surge, providing training and platforms to the other training establishments to begin introducing the ever-present threat of SUAS to recruits, trainees and staff cadets. This effort will continue in 2026 with a continued and enhanced vigour, as STA Wing seeks to satisfy Army’s growing hunger for all things SUAS and FPV. Overall, 2025 has been transformative for STA Wing. The transition from IIS to Sustainment for Integrator training is a significant milestone, and the modernisation efforts conducted across all the TUAS/STA career courses to remove all remaining vestiges of Shadow will drastically enhance our students’ understanding of their new operating environments. I wish good luck and good flying to the 2026 team. Joint Fires Wing 2025 has been a transformative year for Joint Fires Wing – a year defined by innovation, integration, and measurable workforce impact. As the premier Wing within SOArty, we have not only delivered world-class training but also driven growth and retention across critical trades while setting new benchmarks for excellence. Our vision remains clear: a Wing comprised of morally grounded and technically competent professionals dedicated to delivering quality training with integrity and enthusiasm. This year, we lived that vision and achieved results that matter. Career Development Team delivered significant outcomes, graduating new Offensive Support Lieutenants and reinforcing leadership depth. The Regimental Training and Mortar Teams successfully qualified soldiers across key artillery and mortar disciplines, while Strike Cell ensured Forward Observers were prepared to enable Army’s integrated force. These achievements reflect the Wing’s commitment to building capability and readiness across all ranks and trades. These qualifications reinforce the foundation Offensive Support skills needed in the workforce, but in addition the normal round of career progression courses saw the development of the RAA’s future leaders and RAINFs Mortar leadership to ensure capability at a quality that is required. Integration was a key theme in 2025. We successfully embedded SERCAT 5 soldiers and officers into the training system, strengthening workforce flexibility and resilience. This approach has contributed to improved retention and attraction across the Offensive Support disciplines. Workforce outcomes continue to demonstrate positive trends, with growth and improved
