RAA Liaison Letter 2025/2026 Edition 28 Brisbane Regimental Farewell The Royal Regiment Farewelled Brigadier Tim O’Brien at a RAA Association (QLD) lunch held at the Tattersall’s Club in Brisbane on 19th March 2026. Brigadier Tim O’Brien is one of only a few Reserve officers with a RAA background to have reached the rank of One Star in the modern RAA. He was farewelled by Brigadier Don Roach AM the Colonel Commandant 1st Regiment RAA. L-R: Brigadier Don Roach and Brigadier Tim O’Brien. Brigadier O’Brien gave the RAA and Army more than 41 years service including in 2019, when he was deployed as the Commander of Task Group Afghanistan. The Artillery Museum Needs You! Opening in late 2025 the Army Museum Puckapunyal will include the artillery collection held in storage since the Australian Army Artillery Museum at North Head closed in 2011. The RAA is looking for volunteers with a knowledge of artillery – equipment, doctrine, tactics and history - to join the museum staff to support the preservation of our history and the telling of our proud and unique Gunner story.
