RAA LIAISON LETTER- 2025 – 2026 EDITION CANNONBALL SUPPLEMENT 138 ng RAAHC Firepower Seminar Series Information sheet Context 2026 Firepower Seminar Series – convened by the Royal Australian Artillery Historical Company (volunteer not-for-profit co). The project’s seminar events will be incorporated within the Australian Army’s 125th Birthday and associated marketing. The Australian Army Research Centre and Australian Army History Unit are supporting through publication of the Series proceedings, and access to publication of related peer-review articles in the Army Journal. Seminar Series Purpose Raise awareness of the importance of timely preparation for, and contemplation of the potential prospects of a future major conflict involving Australia. Engagement Opportunity To contribute views and provide support to: • Relevant ‘cautionary tale’ lessons for current and future national security environment. • In form and support decision-makers and influencers (analysts) on key areas of strategic concern, drawn from four relevant historical themes from Australia’s experience in the Second World War. Format Four seminars, each presenting two historical academic papers on key stages in Australia’s wartime experience, followed by a moderated panel of analysts and commentators on consequent learning opportunities for today. Each seminar is followed by a networking event with a keynote address from a notable strategic commentator, as an opportunity for informed and informal discussion between defence and national security stakeholders and providers.
