RAA Liaison Letter 2024 / 2025 Edition 5 Australian Artillery’s CUTLER RESEARCH CENTRE The RAA Historical Company’s library at North Head holds thousands of artillery-related documents, books, photographs, manuals, videos, and maps. To make access to this collection easier, the Company has transformed the library into a volunteer run facility with on-line access known as the Cutler Research Centre (CRC). Persons interested in what the CRC holds in relation to a particular topic can search at: https://ehive.com/collections/201005/cutler- research-centre Once logged in, the enquirer can enter their search topic, and the system will display the items in the CRC catalogue relating to that field. For example, if the enquirer entered ‘Fort Scratchley’ the system would display catalogue references for 25 maps, 16 technical drawings, and two box files. At this stage, most catalogue items cannot be read on-line. Having found an item, the enquirer sends an email request to the CRC - cutlerresearchcentre@artilleryhistory.org - for more information. Major General (Retd) Tim Ford manages the CRC and the team of volunteers who curate the collection and answer enquiries.
