RAA Liaison Letter 2024 - 2025 Edition

RAA Liaison Letter – 2024 / 2025 Edition 75 rolled into the preparations for Exercise Chimera’s Flight 2024 (EX CF 24), the inaugural live operation of the DEF129-3 A-61 capability by the Australian Army. During EX CF 24, the Regiment will seek to not only Assure the capability, but also satisfy a number of Acceptance Test and Evaluation requirements. EX CF 24 will also include the live flight component of the STAWing led initial A-61 IET course, qualifying nine new members to the Regiment and three junior officers (in order to enable their flight authorisation responsibilities). With the arrival of the A-61 Integrator capability into 20 Regt, RAA, it is expected that capability disposal will commence for the complete Shadow 200 TUAS, inclusive of heritage conservation and potential kinetic disposal actions in 2025. Throughout training years 2023–2024 the men and women-members of 20 Regt, RAA have ensured we have grown as an organisation, as they have risen to meet numerous challenges, and performed above and beyond expectations. This was evident through the Regiment’s support to domestic operations concurrent to capability transition and facilitating a complex flying management system. The operators and maintainers of the TUAS, supported by the logistics, engineering and personnel management teams within 20 Regt, RAA, are to be commended for their professionalism and work ethic, consistently performing above their rank and position to ensure the Regiment meets the operational and capability requirements expected of it.
