New Capability Note In October 2023, the Regiment went online as part of Army’s Ready Battle Group (RBG) framework. Just days after achieving online status, elements of the Regiment deployed on short notice contingency operations—validating months of combat preparation and demonstrating the ability to project firepower and command-and-control capability anywhere in the world. This operational validation was reinforced in 2024, as multiple elements deployed again at short notice, embedding a high-readiness culture that continues to shape the Regiment’s posture. Combined Arms Integration and Realism in Training The Regiment actively integrated with 7 Brigade Battlegroups, refining joint fire support missions and mutual support under realistic combat simulations. Key capabilities rehearsed included tactical air-land deployment of artillery assets, gun group resupply, and quick action drills during defence of fire support positions. 105 Battery TALO of 2x M777s into RAAF Scherger as part of 6 RAR RBG high - readiness call out training on Exercise Diamond Trident in August 2024.
