Brigadier Wilson has exhibited extraordinary judgement and skilful application of policy in managing the Australian Army’s most sensitive and complex issues. Throughout his tenure he has managed the resolution of serious incidents in a consistently fair, professional and transparent manner while also overseeing the Australian Army’s contributions to critically important Commissions and investigations. His personal contribution to the Australian Army in this role will endure well beyond his tenure. Lieutenant Colonel Griffiths’ leadership and outstanding staff planning capacity have been central to realising 6th Brigade’s contemporary warfighting role. Through his support to operations and enabling of advanced collective training, Lieutenant Colonel Griffiths enhanced relationships with Defence, government and allied counterparts. He was also a key contributor to concurrent 6th Brigade deployments on Operation FLOOD ASSIST 22 and regional disaster recovery tasks, respectively bolstering the Australian Army’s reputation with flood-affected domestic communities and Australia’s Southwest Pacific partners.
