RAA Liaison Letter – 2024 / 2025 Edition 30 Chief of Joint Fires for Combined Team Uruzgan 1. Lieutenant Colonel Anderson was privileged to re raise 102 ‘Coral’ Battery in Adelaide, leading this unit in 2011 and 2012, including the preparation of soldiers for deployment to Afghanistan. Lieutenant Colonel Anderson elected to separate from Army in 2013. LTCOL Anderson re-engaged with Army in 2018 as Battery Commander 3rd Battery, 9th Regiment, RAA. Lieutenant Colonel Anderson is a graduate of the Joint Command and Staff Program at Canadian Forces College. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel with effect 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Anderson was posted to the Defence Reserve Officer Career Management Agency. LTCOL Anderson is posted as the Commanding Officer of Western Australian University Regiment. Lieutenant Colonel Anderson has been employed in the Western Australian Senior Executive Service and is a graduate of the Australian and New Zealand School of Government Executive Fellows Program. Lieutenant Colonel Anderson, is the current State President of the Returned and Services League of Western Australia and the Deputy President of the Returned and Service League of Australia. Lieutenant Colonel Anderson operates an intensive sheep farm, is a father of two children, enjoys camping, the gym and training his working dogs. LIEUTENANT COLONEL BEN DULLROY Queensland University Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Ben Dullroy joined the Army in 1999 and graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy with a Bachelor of Arts in 2001 and the Royal Military College Duntroon in 2002. Allocated to the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery, he completed Regimental postings at 1st Field Regiment, School of Artillery and 4th Field Regiment. Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy was first posted to the 2nd Division as an Instructor Gunnery and Executive Officer at 48th Field Battery in Adelaide in 2008. During this posting he also completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Adelaide, graduating with distinction in 2009. Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy finished his regular Army career as 2IC of WO&NCO Academy South Queensland in 2010. He completed operational service on Operation RELEX II in 2004 and Operation CATALYST in 2006 respectively. Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy commenced his Army Reserve career in 2011. He completed postings at 1st Regiment Royal Australian Artillery and as SO3 Collective Training at Headquarters 11th Brigade before being appointed Battery Commander of 5/11 Light Battery in September 2014. In addition to sub unit command, Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy was appointed as the Battery Commander of the Battle Group Cannan Light Battery in 2015 and completed the full force generation cycle and Talisman Sabre / Hamel 2017. Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy completed Australian Command and Staff Course (Reserves) in 2018, graduating with distinction. His final posting as a Major was to the Queensland University Regiment as an Instructor on the All Corps Major’s Course. As a Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy’s initial posting was to Headquarters 1st Division’s Adaptive Warfare Branch. He was then posted to Headquarters 11 Brigade and led the Force Modernisation cell in 2022 and Training cell in 2023. During this time he was the first Army Reservist to be selected for both the Strategos strategic analysis and Apollo future warfare analysis courses at the Australian Defence College. Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy was posted to Army Headquarters as the SO1 Industry Engagement for the first half of 2024 before taking up a six month SO1 Strategic Projects position in VCDF Group on continuous full time service. In his civilian career, Lieutenant Colonel Dullroy worked as a Management Consultant for several years before spending over a decade at the Suncorp Group where he held various leadership roles across Corporate Real Estate, Physical Security and Retail Banking and a final position as Executive Manager Project Delivery for Insurance’s Contact Centre Division. After taking a civilian career break in 2024 he has now returned to Management Consulting and is a part time advisor for Beaten Zone Venture Partners, a Defence focused venture capital fund.
